Every year, Forbes releases their ’30 under 30′ list honoring influential people across many sectors; like Entertainment, Finance and Social Entrepreneurship. Among the 2017 list, 3 Lebanese people were honored. Over 15000+ people are nominated and less than 4% are accepted. The list features 30 people in 20 different sectors. The Forbes 30 under 30 highlights 600 of the brightest young entrepreneurs, innovators and game changers.

Khaled Abdel-Rahman – 25
Khaled Abdel-Rahman was honored in the 30 Under 30 – Games list. Born in Beirut, Khaled moved to the United States on a student visa. He graduated from AUB with a Bachelor of Arts/Science. He then got his Masters of Science from the University of Southern California. Rahman worked on concept and design for the mobile game Pokémon GO, served as project manager on Google’s Cast Games remote display project and teaches game development at the University of Southern California. He’s now a Product Manager at Google
Sara Minkara – 27
Sara Minkara made the 30 under 30 list for Social Entrepreneurs. She received Bachelor of Arts / Science, Wellesley College; Master of Arts, Harvard University She received a Bachelor of Arts / Science from Wellesley College and a Master of Arts from Harvard University. Sara, who’s been legally blind since 7 years old, has experienced a safety net of support for her disability through government and private institutions growing up in the U.S. She realized when visiting family in Lebanon that this didn’t exist for blind children in other developing countries. Empowerment Through Integration works with blind children in Lebanon to instil confidence in them, teaching life skills like how to walk with a cane or how to use a computer.
Rouba Mhaissen – 28
Rouba Mhaissen made the ’30 under 30′ list in Europe for Law & Policy. She’s an economist, activist and development expert. She’s the founder and director of Sawa Foundation which is based in the UK. Sawa Foundation provides food, education, and housing for Syrians displaces by the civil war.
