9 celebrities were dressed by Lebanese designers at the Oscars 2019

The Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars, is a set of awards for artistic and technical merit in the film industry. It is given annually by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) to recognize excellence in cinematic achievements as assessed by the Academy’s voting membership.

This year, our beloved Lebanese movie ‘Capernaum’ directed by the talented Nadine Labaki was a nominee in the foreign language category.

Unfortunately, ‘Capernaum’ wasn’t the winner, but the nomination alone is something to be proud of.

Another presence for Lebanon at the Oscars’ Ceremony 2019 was the numerous gowns worn by international celebrities, carefully created by Lebanese designers.

This is not the first time that Lebanese designers shine in an event such as the Annual Academy Awards.

Names such as Elie Saab, Zuhair Murad, and Reem Acra always have a place in lists of Best gowns and best-dressed celebrities.

On each occasion, Lebanon waits to see the work of these successful designers who make us proud.
