On Monday morning, local news reported that the convoy of the interior minister was involved in an accident on the Beirut Highway.
The accident occurred after a truck swerved towards the cars in the convoy.
It was reported that the accident only resulted in material damage to one of the convoy’s cars and no injuries.
Later on, Caretaker Interior Minister, Bassam Mawlawi, gave an update on the situation in a tweet:
“I would like to thank everyone that called for reassurance and all the media after the convoy was involved in an accident in the morning. Everyone is fine and the damage was limited to material.”
