Lebanese-Australian Daizy Gedeon Received The British Regal Award For Her Work For Lebanon

The Lebanese-Australian journalist and filmmaker Daizy Gedeon received the British Regal Award at the Trilateral Global Summit – World Humanitarian Drive 2022 for her work for Lebanon.

“My team and I will continue to raise the voice and profile of Lebanon globally until our country and our people can live with dignity and have a homeland that is free and fair,” Gedeon expressed when receiving the award.

Founded by the British-Indian Global Peace activist, Dr. Abdul Basit Syed, the World Humanitarian Drive (WHD) is an International NGO operating in 12 countries to promote peace, education, and trade harmony initiatives around the globe.

Gedeon has been using her career as a journalist and filmmaker to focus on the many issues that are affecting Lebanon.

Previously, Gedeon was one of the 2022 recipients of the Global Trade Chamber’s 100 Successful Women in Business Award, for her positive impact on her community.

The Lebanese-Australian is also the director of EnoughLebanon’s Darkest Hour has won 19 awards so far, including the Movie That Matters Award at the 2021 Cannes International Film Festival, and Best Documentary at the Vesuvius International Film Fest.

The documentary, which focuses on Lebanon’s years-long corruption and post-war politics, was selected for many film festivals, namely the Toronto International Women Film Festival, and the Beverly Hills Film Festival, among others.
