A large fire broke out in Mar Roukoz – Dekwaneh, as the people of the area appealed to the concerned authorities to intervene quickly to prevent it from spreading to nearby houses and residential buildings.
MP Elias Hankach visited the area where the fire broke out, and contacted Dekwaneh Mayor Antoine Chakhtoura, Civil Defense Director Raymond Khattar, and Operations Director George Bou Moussa to remedy the situation.
It was also agreed that Hankach would send water tankers to trap the fire as soon as possible.
The causes of the fire are still not clear. And it is still unknown if there were any injured people.
The Civil Defense, despite being on strike, has responded to fight the fire. The Lebanese Army also responded to help.
