The president of the Municipal Council of Beirut, Jamal Itani, held a press conference in attendance of a number of members of the municipal council members this week.
Itani presented a number of decisions taken by the Beirut municipal council. Among those are projects that will be put into effect this coming term.
Itani began the conference by announcing that the municipal council, following a written request from Prime Minister Saad Hariri, will name the road extending from President Emile Lahoud’s Avenue to the “statue of expatriate” as ‘President Michel Aoun’s Avenue”.
Earlier in 2018, an avenue holding the King Salman bin Abdul Aziz’s name was inaugurated in the presence of Prime Minister Saad Hariri, Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea, Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat as well as the Saudi royal envoy Nizar al-Aloula and Saudi charge d’affaires in Lebanon Walid al-Bukhari.
And in 2005 Beirut Municipality named Beirut’s new seaside corniche after late Saudi King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz.
