In a statement following its vague previous announcement, ABC said that its Achrafieh branch will reopen tomorrow after it was able to secure fuel to operate.
In its statement, ABC accused media outlets of false allegations and rumors for claiming that the branch will be closed not just for one day.
The initial announcement only contained two sentences indicating closure on Sunday and no anticipated reopening dates as they stated that they will later announce when “normal business hours resume.”
This left the hundreds of employees working at this location anxious if they will be having a job to return to.
Employees and stores at ABC Achrafieh told The961 that they did not get any information from management specifying when they will be able to continue operations at the mall even after ABC’s second announcement that they will be opening on Monday.
ABC also did not answer any of the multiple calls from The961 inquiring about this closure. We were hoping for more clarity and information as the initial statement was not clearly understood by many people who showed confusion in the comment sections across social media.
This announcement came two weeks after City Mall announced its closure until further notice due to the lack of fuel.
Update: The961 left a comment on their latest Instagram post where they deflected blame for their miscommunication on the media. We tried to explain how they went wrong and what to do in the future. The comment was deleted. We reposted it.
