Born in the Lebanese town of Taraya in 1977, Ali Hamieh holds a Merit in Electronics from the Lebanese University, a Masters in Communications Technology from ENIB University in France, and a Ph.D. in Electronics and Optical Communications from UBO University in France.
In 2014, he received a certificate of eligibility for research management from the University of Brittany Occidental in France, in addition to the rank of professor from AUL University in 2014 and from the Lebanese University in 2015.
He is a lecturer at a number of universities in Lebanon and at the Higher Institute of Doctorate in Science and Technology – the Lebanese University.
A key member of various local and international committees, Hamieh has more than 50 international refereed scientific research.
He participated in dozens of international conferences, is fluent in Arabic, French, and English.
Ali Hamieh, who also holds French citizenship, was chosen by the Shiite Duo – Nabih Berri and Hezbollah– to head the Ministry of Public Works & Transport in the new government of PM Najib Mikati.
