Anghami, the leading Lebanese music streaming platform in the MENA, announced the acquisition of Spotlight Events, a Dubai-based company that specialized in managing live events and concerts in the region.
This partnership expands Anghami’s influence in the music and entertainment industries, as it will unlock many opportunities between physical and digital entertainment.
The Dubai-based company, which provides a physical stage for artists to perform on, will now be promoting those artists by using Anghami’s technology, providing access to concerts through live video streaming, as well as creating AR and VR experiences.
This new milestone for Anghami will enable the leading music streaming platform to provide and unlock more opportunities for artists, and brands, and give fans exclusive access to private concerts, meet-and-greets, and backstage access.
Founded by Elie Habib and Eddy Maroun in 2012, Anghami was soon increasing in popularity and success. In 2021, it moved its headquarters to Abu Dhabi to tap into growth opportunities and get access to regional and global markets.
With over 75 million registered users, by February 2022, and 40 telecom partners in the MENA region, Anghami became the region’s first tech company to be listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange.
Beirut celebrated the achievement by illuminating its landmark, the Raouche Rock, with Anghami‘s logo.
And Anghami’s journey for expansion continues with now acquiring Spotlight Events to provide even more opportunities to regional artists and talents.
