For the second time, a Christmas tree placed in front of the Saint George Church in the Lebanese city of Mina, part of Tripoli, was set on fire. Security forces are investigating the incident, examining nearby cameras to determine whether the fire was caused by an electrical short-circuit or arson.
Lebanese MP Ashraf Rifi condemned the act, describing it as an attack against Tripoli and Mina and their communal living spirit. He praised the army for arresting the perpetrator of a previous incident and expressed hope for the restoration of the tree, symbolizing the resilience of Tripoli and Mina against darkness.
This incident follows a recent similar attack where a Molotov bomb was thrown at a Christmas tree in the Zahrieh area of Tripoli.
