The Arabic Remake Of “Perfect Strangers” Is Top 1 Across The Region

The first Arabic Netflix original movieاصحاب ولا اعز (Friends… No Dearest), a remake of Perfect Strangers, has taken the Middle East region by storm, setting it ablaze for its controversial scenes, including taboo topics like cheating spouses and homosexuality.

The “sharp” attacks mostly targetted the well-known Egyptian actress Mona Zaki for a disputable scene, but her fans, as well as many actors and actresses, rushed to stand in solidarity with the actress, including Egypt’s professional actors’ union.

Despite all the controversial opinions, and that it was just released on January 20th, the Arabic remake of Perfect Strangers has taken the Top 1 position in 11 Middle-Eastern countries, the Top 2 in France, and the Top 9 Worldwide (as of the time of writing).

The movie is one of the various international remakes of the 2016 Italian movie Perfect Strangers that has been a massive hit ever since its release.

It tells the story of a group of friends who play a game during dinner one night where they read all the calls and text messages on their phones out loud, which leads to unveiling various secrets.

The Arabic remake of “Perfect Strangers” is performed by an outstanding cast of actors in the region, including award-winning Nadine Labaki, George Khabbaz, Diamand Abou Abboud, Fouad Yammine, Adel Karam, Mona Zaki, and Eyad Nassar.

This drama/comedy show is available on Netflix in 190 countries.
