Several Lebanese areas have completely lost internet connectivity due to the shortage of fuel, Ogero announced on Monday morning.

“Our services have stopped temporarily within the range of the Barouk, Halba, and Qoubayat centers until we are resupplied with diesel fuel,” Ogero said in a statement.

“We apologize for this circumstance that is beyond our control.”

The announcement coincided with a statement by Fadi Abou Chakra, the representative of fuel distributors in Lebanon, saying that diesel fuel was not distributed in the local market on Monday.

Abou Chakra told Annahar that several diesel-fuel tankers have been anchored in Lebanese waters, waiting for the fuel subsidy issue to be resolved.

The severe shortage of diesel fuel has been undermining and paralyzing vital sectors in Lebanon.

In addition to daily blackouts and internet cuts that last for many hours, the shortage is threatening the lives of patients at hospitals whose generators have run out of the essential substance.

Bakeries across the country have also been impacted by the fuel crisis, which has slowed or halted the production and distribution of bread in various areas.
