Lebanese Army helicopters are flying over the Baakline Forests in Lebanon in search of the gunman.

Early this evening, a gunman shot and killed at least nine people in separate locations around the Chouf town of Baakline, southeast of Beirut.

The shooting started at an under-construction house near the river which is on a dead-end road surrounding by trees.

According to LBCI, a couple and their two children were shot dead there.

According to MP Talal Arslan in a Tweet, it was a personal and family dispute that escalated into a horrible massacre, citing “preliminary information.”

MP Marwan Hamadeh, who is from this town, said the killer could be “mentally disturbed”. He told reporters that “it is similar to the shootings that happen in America.”

Although many people keep pistols and rifles in their homes in Lebanon, such shootings are very rare.
