Lebanese Army helicopters are flying in circles over Tripoli with increased tensions between the Jabal Mohsen and Bab al-Tebbaneh.
Tensions between the two neighborhoods have been high for the past couple of days over the Syrian elections. Many dual-nationality (Syrian-Lebanese) residents of Jabal Mohsen expressed support for Bashar Al-Assad, as opposed to the residents of Bab al-Tebbaneh.
Now, ahead of the Syrian election results, the Lebanese Army presence is on high alert on the ground and overhead as people worry celebratory gunfire from Jabal Mohsen will provoke a negative reaction from the residents of Bab al-Tebbaneh.
In the thread below:
- A large poster of Bashar Al-Assad hung in Jabal Mohsen.
- People waiting for the election results which come out tonight.
Earlier today, the Lebanese Army raided a home in Bab al-Tebbaneh and arrested five people who were in possession of military-grade weapons and a quantity of ammunition and grenades.
