On Tuesday, units of the Lebanese Naval and Air Forces carried out a search and rescue drill with a U.S. Naval Forces team.
The exercise was held in the field of hydrography facing Beirut and the Bay of Jounieh.
A day earlier, on Monday, diving exercises occurred in the Jounieh naval base and another one on dealing with naval mines was held in the Hanoush area.
These exercises are part of the annual training that the U.S. Naval Forces provide to Lebanon to increase the Lebanese Army‘s capabilities to handle maritime security issues.
The training started last week after Lebanese Army Commander, General Joseph Aoun, met with the Commander of the U.S. Naval Forces, General Charles Cooper, and U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon, Dorothy Shea, to discuss maritime military cooperation between the two countries.
