Mural in Beirut highlights the importance of education and innovation!

The Cuban street artist of Lebanese origins Jorge Rodriguez Gerada, in collaboration with BAD Associative Data, painted a mural on a building that is located in “Kanda' El Ghamiq;" the front line during the Lebanese Civil War. The artwork, which is titled “Connection,” illustrates a young boy who is exploring an electric circuit board. During the war, many kids, especially young boys, were selling flowers, cigarettes, and candy on the streets. The message of "Connection" is to highlight the importance of education and innovation in building the country's future on strong pillars. According to BAD’s Ali Basbous, the message that the artists want to transmit to parents is to “take the kids out of the streets, and connect them to the future.” He also mentioned that the art piece is an intervention.
