The Lebanese Ministry of Energy and Water announced that “the fair price of tariffs for private electric generators for the month of August is 13,796 L.L. per kilowatt hour.”

Price rates are issued at the end of each month for subscribers to pay their bills accordingly.

  • 10 Amp capacity: 230,000 L.L. + Monthly installment X 13,796 LBP For every kilowatt hour.

The ministry pointed out that “for subscribers in villages or distant areas or at an altitude of more than 700 meters:

  • 5 amp capacity: 110,000 L.L. (fixed) + monthly lump sum 15,176 LBP. For every kilowatt hour.
  • 10 Amp capacity: 230,000 L.L. (Fixed) + monthly lump sum X 15,176 LBP. For every kilowatt hour.

The ministry noted that an additional 120,000 LBP is added to the fixed portion of the metered price for every additional 5 amperes.

It pointed out that this tariff is based on the average price of a diesel fuel tank (20 liters) in August of 679,241 pounds, after calculating all the expenses, benefits, and costs of generators, in addition to a good profit margin for its owners.
