This video shows the awkward encounter between travelers heading to Beirut and Tel Aviv after Transavia, a Dutch airline, canceled their flights.
Travelers heading to either of these destinations were surprised to receive news before boarding that the flights had been canceled due to the escalating war. Many flights to Lebanon have been canceled, but passengers were not expecting such a sudden change of course.
Lebanese passengers were then told to wait for their luggage at a baggage claim that turned out to be facing that of passengers heading to Tel Aviv. Everyone was forced to blend until Lebanese passengers were relocated to a new baggage claim.
According to Lebanese laws, citizens can’t fraternize with Israelis at the risk of being charged in military court.
Fortunately, no fights broke out between the Lebanese and Israeli passengers. “Weirdly, no chaos happened. It was all so smooth,” Tina, who filmed the video, told 961.
