Every year, the British institution QS (Quacquarelli Symonds), specializing in higher education, evaluates thousands of universities around the world to publish the top 1,000 universities.

Out of 8 Lebanese universities ranked among the best worldwide, the University of Balamand has made an impressive advancement in the regional university ranking.

UOB is celebrating its new position in the 2020-2021 QS regional university rankings, proudly jumping 10 points since last year’s ranking, from #36 to #26.

This ranking is out of a total of 160 universities across the MENA region.

As for the other Lebanese universities compared to regional institutions, AUB and the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) maintained their positions at #2 and #30 respectively.

Also recording improvements are the Lebanese American University (LAU) and Notre Dame University (NDU), both of which went up one point since last year, in addition to the Lebanese University (LU) which jumped four ranks.

With that being said, it’s worth remembering that the year was undoubtedly difficult for educational institutions around the world, let alone Lebanon which is witnessing a severe economic collapse.

Despite this, our local universities are hard at work to offer the best education and service to our brilliant students.
