The highly anticipated Barbie movie’s release in Lebanon has faced yet another delay, and fans will have to wait until September 7th to catch it on the big screen.
This marks the second time the release date has been pushed back, with the initial postponement moving it from July 21st to August 31st.
Originally, the film was set to premiere on the iconic date of July 21st, but without a clear explanation, it was delayed for the first time.
The movie was set to screen on August 31st after the latest setback coming from Minister of Culture Mohamad Mortada who called for a ban on the movie, claiming that it “promotes ways of life that are in violation of religion and morals.”
Despite these challenges, the Barbie movie, featuring Hollywood stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, has been a massive success globally, grossing over $1 billion in box office revenue. Audiences worldwide have eagerly embraced Greta Garwig’s pink sensation.
The film has already been released in neighboring countries like the UAE and Saudi Arabia, leaving Lebanese fans eagerly awaiting its premiere on September 7th.
