In a controversial visit to Tripoli, Gebran Bassil, the leader of the Free Patriotic Movement and a member of the Lebanese parliament, faced vehement opposition.
His tour, which began on Sunday afternoon, included meetings with prominent local figures such as MP Taha Najy and MP Faisal Karami.
However, tensions escalated when Tripoli residents expressed their dissent by pelting Bassil’s convoy with eggs and tomatoes.
Amidst these protests, two individuals were reportedly injured after a scuffle involving the army and alleged aggression from Bassil’s security team, as per sources from “Annahar”.
