Beirut Arab University’s Life Support Center (BAULS) was awarded earlier this month the certification of the first Lebanese reference center of the American Heart Association (AHA) in the Middle East and North Africa, during the Annual MENA Summit held in Dubai.
The AHA Middle East and North Africa (MENA) celebrated the winners, successes, and accomplishments of several facilities during its annual summit. Beirut Arab University was announced as one of the Reference Centers for their support to the network throughout the MENA region.
Beirut Arab University announced the news in a statement on their website and their official social media platforms: “The BAULS Center (Beirut Arab University Life Support) was approved as the first Lebanese reference center for the American Heart Association in the Middle East and North Africa, during the annual conference held in Dubai on December 9.”
The statement indicated that the center will work in the next stage to provide the following advanced services:
1. Creation and rehabilitation of centers.
2. Supervising the quality of training.
3. Increase specialized training courses to enable trainers, supervisors, and coordinators.
Worth mentioning that the BAULS was accreditated in 2017 by the American Heart Association for its highest international standards in training programs for health and medical personnel and that according to the AHA union’s medical and legal procedures and Lebanese hospitals.
Since then, the BAULS’ center is considered to conform to the highest international standards for training programs for health personnel, such as doctors and nurses, in accordance with medical and legal procedures required by their unions.
Beirut Arab University stated that that accreditation made it possible to expand the work of the center and conduct courses through accredited trainers under the supervision of regional specialists. It has allowed them to maintain the highest levels of quality in five training sites spread across Lebanon, namely:
• Haykel Hospital, Tripoli
• Al-Youssef Hospital Center, Akkar
