“Beirut After 40” by Anthony Merchak won the prestigious Hollywood Gold Awards and will be screened next Sunday in Santa Monica, Los Angeles.
Director Anthony Merchak was also appointed to be a member of the festival’s international jury last Tuesday.
The film has won many awards and is among the most famous short films in the region.
It will be also screened in the upcoming release of the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Market in France, from January 30 to February 4.
“Beirut After 40” is also nominated at the Golden State film festival 2022, which will be held between February 25 and March 3 at the TCL Chinese Theatre.
The film tells a true story about the catastrophic Beirut Blast, and that day marked at 6:07 p.m. when everything changed in Beirut’s history and the life of the director Merchak, as he was just a few meters away from the explosion site.
In his documentary, Merchak describes his personal experience, accompanied by real footage that was first shown of his experience.
Anthony Merchak, the Lebanese Director, has a Master’s Degree In Cinema & TV and has won 32 awards so far in his career.
