Beirut Airport took down the Christmas tree

Recently, Beirut Airport installed a

Christmas tree

made of recycled materials in the Cedar Lounge. It received a lot of criticism.

People

pointed out that the tree did not reflect the holiday vibes. Also, the tourists might not get a great impression of Lebanon after seeing it.

According to

sources

, the Chairman of Middle East Airlines (MEA) Mohammad Al Hout said that the tree is an initiative by MEA to promote recycling and support the environment. He added that a lot of companies around the world to the same thing to raise

awareness

 of environmental issues.

The tree was taken down yesterday. Even though the idea behind it is great, it would have been better to focus more on the decoration.
