Dr. Saleh Machnouk, son of former minister and Beirut Blast suspect Nouhad Machnouk, showed his support for Judge Bitar in his investigation into the explosion.
Saleh Machnouk posted an image of Judge Bitar to his Instagram with the caption “I’m with you” and “I’m with you till the end of the road against the ministers conspiring against the investigation.”
Former minister Nouhad Machnouk launched a lawsuit against Judge Bitar questioning his impartiality. This triggered a halt in the investigation until a judge can issue a ruling. A similar tactic was used to removed Judge Bitar’s predecessor.
Former minister Machnouk was set to be interrogated by Judge Bitar this week.
Dr. Saleh Machnouk has been a vocal opposition against the political class, including his father.
Judge Bitar has attracted quite a bit of support from the public as the political class and Hezbollah double down their attacks and threats against him.
