Beirut Club defeated Al Riyadi on Friday, June 11th, to win the XXL Energy Lebanese Basketball Championship for the first time. This victory makes Beirut Club the fifth club in modern Lebanese Basketball to win the championship.
After six fierce matches between the two clubs, the seventh and final match ended with a 79-62 win for Beirut Club.
Despite winning the championship in the previous season, 2020-2021, and having the most titles in the history of the competition with 16 titles, Al Riyadi failed to add another win to their tally.
Beirut Club will be proud to have won this tournament against Al Riyadi after they had been denied by the same team in the 2018-2019 finals. Credit goes to their best player in the game, Elie Chamoun. Chamoun was voted by the fans as MVP in the final game with 37.7% of the votes.
With this defeat, it is the fourth time Al Riyadi lose a final in the Lebanese Basketball League.
