8 Events To Chill Out This Weekend In Beirut

The heart of Beirut keeps beating at its own everlasting rhythm, defying the odds as it has always done throughout the centuries, fueled by its arts and culture and the passion of the Lebanese people to prevail.

Hence, events are happening across the country, and here are eight of them taking place this weekend in Beirut for you to chill out with your friends and/or your significant other.

#1 Al Bustan Festival

To all the music lovers, this week Al Bustan Festival, located in Emile Bustani Auditorium, Beirut, is at its peak! The final three shows are upon us.

On March 9th, Victor Julien-Laferrière is gracing us with a melodious cello performance, followed on March 11th by a talented orchestra performance by Oumeima El Khalil (singer), Hani Siblini (piano), and André Hajj (director).

It is also featuring choreographer Pierre Geagea and his group of deaf dancers.

The finale on March 13th will be a beautiful opera performance by Kathleen Norchi (soprano), Mlindi Aubrey Pato (tenor), Nikolai Zemlyanskikh (baritone), and Gianluca Marciano (piano).

This music festival caters to all ears, from the top musician to a person just getting into classical music, so don’t hesitate to go and experience a whole new world of sounds and melodies.

#2 Beirut International & Arab Book Fair

The annual book fair has returned after a 3-year hiatus! Stacked with rows and rows upon rows of Arabic, English, and French books of all genres, this book haven is a must for anyone looking to upgrade their collection.

Located in Biel’s Seaside Arena Beirut, this book fair is accommodated by 90 publishing houses. So it is very unlikely that you will leave the place without finding your next read.

You will also find multiple local writers present and signing their work, making it the perfect opportunity to get in touch with your favorite authors and see them up close.

#3 The Synaptik Freek Concert

The Synaptic and Freek are collaborating to make a one-of-a-kind concert this Sunday, March 13th, at KED Beirut.

This iconic collaboration between rapper Palestinian-Jordanian “The Synaptic” and Emirates-born Somali trap rapper “Freek” is going to take Beirut by storm!

#4 HUNNA – Special Women’s Day – Art Exhibition at ABC Verdun

Hunna is an art exhibition currently taking place at ABC Verdun and which will last 3 months. It includes art that empowers women and promotes feminism and sheds light on women’s issues.

45 local artists are gathering for this event, so go and discover the journey of women through paintings, drawings, sculptures, photography, videos, and other parallel programs.

#5 Comedy Night with Charles Hbeiliny and Rodrigue Ghosn

This comedy night is going to take place on March 11th. It’s the perfect place to spend an evening laughing with friends.
