The Beirut International Women Film Festival 2022 is taking place from March 6 until March 11 at Grand Cinemas Lebanon, in ABC Dbayeh.
This year’s festival will feature fiction films, documentaries, short fiction films, short documentary films, and short animation films from Lebanese and international filmmakers.
The main theme for this year’s film festival is “Women For Leadership” and focuses on the role women have in Lebanese society, taking into consideration the hardship they face in society.
The organizers honored the Lebanese Takla Chamoun Farjallah, known for her unique style and challenging roles and a prominent figure in TV series.
As the theme reflects, BWFF’s main mission is to take action and make a stand, to demand equal rights in the film industry and society.
Beirut International Women Film Festival (BWFF), founded in 2017, is organized by the Beirut Film Society, working since 2007 on introducing cinema culture as a way to promote human rights as well as spreading the Lebanese culture through cinematographic works.
BWFF accepts Lebanese and international films. For the latest edition, it received more than 1200 submissions from more than 100 countries.
