The Beirut airport-based meteorology department expected the weather this week to be slightly cloudy with a slight rise in temperatures in coastal areas.
The Beirut port wheat silos are still on fire since mid-July. Last Sunday at 4:58 P.M, a part of the silos collapsed.
The Lebanese officials blamed the fires on the high summer temperature and the fermenting wheat at the bottom of the silos.
With the temperature now rising in Lebanon, the fires could further ignite and thus increasing the possibility of the silos’ collapsing.
Work in the port of Beirut started early today after another fire broke out last night in the silos. The civil defense and the fire brigade are in full readiness, and measures have been taken by the Lebanese army in the vicinity of the silos.
