A couple days ago, the first prototype bike lane was assembled in Beirut City. It’s the first of its kind and if all goes well, they will extend it throughout Beirut. Just as a reminder, there is absolutely no financial cost or ‘burden’ on the municipality of Beirut for the assembly of the bike lane or the
as a whole. Byblos
launched their own bike sharing system
not too long ago and have plans to introduce bike lanes in the city as well. Some of the major concern is obviously safety. Will these lanes be respected by vehicles? I assume many will park their cars in the bike lane or even drive over it to cut in front of another car.
