The Lebanese team competing in the Gothia Cup Tour 2022 football tournament, Beirut Football Academy, has qualified for the 32nd round of the competition in which the Academy participates for the 16th time in its history.
The Lebanese team secured the qualification after achieving 3 remarkable consecutive victories, winning (4-0) over “Hermansby IF” on Monday, beating “Chadwick International” (1-2) on Tuesday, and defeating “Munka-Ljungby IF” (0-6) on Wednesday.
Next, the Lebanese team is set to face the European Football Academy today, July 21st.
Beirut Football Academy is the only club from Lebanon that has teams playing during the Gothia Cup 2022.
Despite the difficult circumstances, Beirut Football Academy insisted on not missing the annual event. The Head of Mission and Academy, Ziad Saadeh, stated that “Sports do not give up to any circumstance.”
The Gothia Cup in Sweden is the largest and most well-known international youth football tournament in the world. Each year, around 1 700 teams from 80 nations take part, and they play 4 500 matches on 110 pitches.
