This icon is inspired by many worldwide artists. She talks about her favorite artists in her new podcast: Me & Dad Radio. And guess who’s on her list of inspirations? The beloved Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram!
International star Billie Eilish expressed her admiration for the Lebanese artist. She especially praised her melodies, her singing, and the production of her songs.
In the podcast, she says that she listens to Fi Hagat to shift her mood. Noting that Nancy Ajram launched this song in 2010 in her album Nancy 7.
She says: “I love Nancy Ajram, I love Nancy Ajram in this song. She has this song and another song called “Enta Eh”… I found this song because of a meme… I looked it up and I found it. I’m loving it. Now I listen to all of Nancy Ajram’s stuff.”
She expresses numerous times how much she loves Fi Hagat, even though she doesn’t understand the lyrics. “The way that she sings is so crazy!” Billie said about Nancy.
She goes on to praise Arabic music in general, saying: “The way that Arabic songs sound is just like melted chocolate in my ears.”
She mentions that she used to play Fi Hagat all day, every day, back in December 2018 (we have proof of that). She then proceeds to play Nancy’s song on her podcast.
While the podcast was just uploaded on Youtube, Nancy Ajram responded to Billie on Twitter: “We love you too Billie and we are big fans of your work!!! My girls are always playing your songs out loud in the house.”
Nancy Ajram is one of the best selling Middle Eastern music artists. She has sold over 30 million records worldwide as of 2007. She was also declared the best selling Middle Eastern female singer for the years 2000-2009.
Above all, Nancy is the most followed celebrity of the Middle East on social media. And apparently Billie Eilish has now officially joined the Nancy Ajram fandom.
