A small bomb exploded outside the home of Caretaker Minister of Public Works and Transportation, Ali Hamieh, in the Baalbek town of Taraya on Thursday.
The explosion occurred at about two o’clock in the morning. No injuries or damage were reported.
In a statement, the Minister’s press office said that the bomb was attached to electrical wires and placed in the house’s garden.
However, security sources said that the explosion was caused by a stun grenade that was thrown under a tree close to the house.
