Not only have schools been shut, sports and scouts activities suspended, and nightclubs closed down, but all other leisure centers in Lebanon have also been affected by the recent coronavirus precautionary measures as well.
The ministerial committee responsible for combating the COVID-19 instructed all gyms, cinemas, and theatres to close their doors on Friday, March 6th.
The closed environments of these locations and the fact that people come in contact abundantly when attending them increase the probability of a more widespread epidemic in Lebanon.
Therefore, the committee found it necessary to have them halt their services until it is deemed safe to revert the decision, especially after 6 new cases of coronavirus infection were announced on Friday.
It also urged Lebanese citizens to abide by the guidelines and recommendations of the Ministry of Public health and to avoid crowded places.
