Minister of Education, Abbas Al-Halabi, announced that the Cabinet has agreed to replace the existing “Brevet” certificate with a new test, to be conducted jointly by private and public schools.
“I am pleased to inform the students that the Cabinet has approved the decree prepared by the Ministry of Education to replace the ninth-grade certificate exam with a unified national test administered by both public and private schools…” the minister stated.
According to Al-Halabi, the Ministry of Education will take charge of formulating the exam questions, supervising the examination process, setting correction standards, and ensuring their distribution to all educational institutions.
These examinations will be conducted within the premises of the respective schools, under the supervision of school principals and educational authorities.
Additionally, the Ministry will establish correction guidelines, with standardized exam papers being dispatched to all participating schools on the day of examinations.
Addressing concerns about residents in the Southern region, Minister Al-Halabi assured that the decree includes special provisions for them.
He emphasized that any actions taken regarding this matter will be contingent upon a clear understanding of the security situation in the South and will be determined by the Minister of Education.
