Burning Waste Causing Suffocation For Elderly And Children In Tripoli, Lebanon

Annahar

Tripoli citizens have been suffering for several days from the problem of burning waste in some areas.

This is causing a continuous black smoke and an unpleasant odor in the air, not to mention the health problems caused by this process such as suffocation, especially among the elderly and children.

So far, all the appeals made by the people of the city to prevent the burning of tires and waste have not worked, as some owners of wastelands burn them to extract copper and iron materials, to sell them later.

The citizens again appealed to the concerned authorities and the security forces to control this phenomenon, which is spreading day after day.
