The Emirati businessman, Khalaf Al Habtoor, founder and chairman of Habtoor group, recently expressed his shock at the reports implicating the gang in the exploitation of children and minors, including instances of sexual assault and drug coercion.
Al Habtoor has committed to supporting the victims by providing psychological and physical treatment through the “Al Habtoor Group”.
He characterized the situation as unimaginable, inhumane, and reprehensible.
“We at Al Habtoor group are fully prepared to undertake the treatment of these children and provide all the psychological and physical treatment they need. We have already contracted the competent authorities in Lebanon to begin this as soon as possible,” the businessman stated.
Al Habtoor highlighted the alarming ease with which criminals can access homes through children’s mobile phones, particularly citing the TikTok application.
He called on parents to ban their children from using TikTok and to closely monitor their online activities. Noting that Lebanese lawyers are now banned from using TikTok.
The Ministry of Information will collaborate with the TikTok office in the Middle East and Turkey, as the TikTok team is scheduled to visit Lebanon soon following the ministry’s invitation.
