Meet Carlos Slim’s Son: A Brilliant Legacy Of His Father

Son of Carlos Slim Helu, Mexican-Lebanese billionaire business magnate, engineer, investor, and philanthropist, Carlos Slim Domit has proven himself as a force in his own right – building upon the fortunate lifestyle he was born into to make a name for himself in the business industry.

Carlos Slim Domit was born in 1967 in Mexico of Lebanese origins from both his maternal and paternal sides. He is the eldest in his family, as well as his father’s eldest son. 

Slim Domit earned his B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Anahuac, a branch of a private universities’ system that is administered by the religious congregation of the Legion of Christ.

Slim Domit served as the Co-Chairman of the ICT Task Force at the B20 2012 as well as Co-Chair of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Latin America in 2015, a not-for-profit organization based in Cologny-Geneva, Switzerland.

Its mission commits to “improving the state of the world by engaging business, political, academic, and other leaders of society to shape global, regional, and industry agendas.”

He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of America Movil, a Mexican telecommunications corporation headquartered in Mexico City, Mexico.

It is the seventh-largest mobile network operator in terms of equity subscribers and one of the largest corporations in the world. It is a Forbes Global 2000 company.

Slim Domit also serves as Chairman of the Board at Grupo Carso, a Mexican global conglomerate company owned by his father, and at Grupo Sanborns, a large restaurant, retail, pharmacy and department store chain located in Mexico, El Salvador, and Panama.

He serves in the same capacity at Telmex, a Mexican telecommunications company headquartered in Mexico City.

It provides telecommunications products and services in Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, and other countries across Latin America.

In addition to that, Slim Domit is a Member of the Senate of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile, an association established in 1904 to represent the interests of motoring organizations and motor car users.

Domit is also a philanthropist. He serves as a Member of the Board of Directors at the Centro de Estudios de Historia de México Carso and a Member of the Patronage of the Hospital Infantil de México.

He also serves President of the Instituto Nacional de Nutrición Salvador Zubiran Patronage, among other social organizations.
