Carrefour Is NOT Closing in Lebanon

An image has been circulating WhatsApp groups and social media pages which looks like a notice from the hypermarket Carrefour announcing that its journey in Lebanon has come to an end.

On May 5th, Carrefour responded to the false information, announcing on social media that there is no truth to the circulating rumors.

“We would like to reiterate that all our stores will always be open to meet the needs of our customers, and what is being circulated in misinformation,” Carrefour said in the statement.

Carrefour’s doors will be open all week from 8:00 AM till 9:00 PM.

A similar rumor was recently spread about Spinneys, causing some panic among people. Spinneys has also responded to the fake news stating its doors were open.

With Coca-Cola closing in Lebanon, and so many businesses already shut down, people are waiting in dread for anything to happen.
