The fashion headquarters of the internationally renowned Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad is among the structures that did not survive the explosion of Beirut’s port.
Zuhair lost his headquarters, 80% of his archives, and his upcoming ready-to-wear and couture collections.
However, instead of recoiling under the harsh reality, Zouhair decided to take action and join the ‘golden book’ of names of all those who have been helping with personal initiatives.
Just like a phoenix, Beirut will rise from the dark ashes of this tragic event. That’s what Zouhair Murad, like many Lebanese, believes.
Drawing force and inspiration from that belief, he just designed a T-shirt that calls on Beirut to rise:
Rise From The Ashes limited edition, which he created on Represent, a platform where designers can represent a cause through t-shirts.
For about $25.99, people can acquire a t-shirt of this limited edition and support Lebanon’s NGO Offre Joie and the Lebanese Red Cross.
And this is what celebrities have just started to do, not only by buying the T-shirt but also by joining in his initiative, posting on Instagram a photo of themselves wearing the T-Shirt, and inviting their followers to support.
Among them, the Brazilian model and TV personality Alessandra Corine Ambrósio who has 10.2M followers on Instagram.
The American actress of Colombian origins Sofia Vergara who counts 19.8M followers on Instagram alone.
American actress, producer, and director Courtney Cox:
“I am joining Zuhair Murad in helping the people of Beirut,” these celebrities are captioning their posts. “They have lost so much in this tragedy.”
As their caption indicates, all proceeds will fund the Lebanese Red Cross and Offre Joie so that they’ll be able to continue their relief efforts to the people of Beirut.
“Get your T-shirt at represent.com/Beirut,” they said, inviting their followers and network to support.
Zuhair Murad has been dressing up gloriously numerous top world celebrities, including Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera, Kerry Washington, and the likes. It is expected that many other celebrities will join his initiative, which he has only just launched.
