China’s Ambassador Qian Minjian to Lebanon said on Tuesday that his country is eager to strengthen its ties with Lebanon and its army to maintain peace in the country and region.

At the virtual 95th anniversary of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA), Minjian stated that “China will continue to hold high the banner of multilateralism to build a community with a shared future for mankind.”

Defense Attache of the Chinese Embassy Zheng Yuchong highlighted at the anniversary China’s significant contributions to the country’s and region’s peacekeeping efforts for the past 16 years.

According to Yuchong, “the Chinese army is willing to continue to develop exchanges and cooperation with the Lebanese army in various fields to promote the healthy development of bilateral relations.”

Over the last two years, China has assisted Lebanon by donating vaccines and hospital supplies last November and providing 3,600 food rations for Lebanese families affected by the Beirut Port explosion in 2020.
