Cinema for Peace is hosting a summer camp and film festival in Retro village, Ain el Sindiane from August 8th till August 14th. The camp involves the training of filmmakers from around the world and the festival consists of an all-day event open to the public starting at 6 pm.
This academy is organized by Beirut Film Festival to promote peace through cinema.
Cinema for Peace conveys a message of peaceful coexistence and unity through films for Lebanon to be “a space of dialogue among civilizations based on peace and diversity.”
This summer camp and film festival is open to the participation of filmmakers from around the world who have the same goal of planting peace within diversity.
Filmmakers wishing to attend the professional training in the camp may complete an application. The submitted films must be related to: “Human Reconciliation, Dialogue, Environment, Human Rights, Peace, Acceptance.”
Cinema for Peace consists of a summer camp training program that takes place over 10 days. Short films and public service announcements created during the camp will screen during the film festival.
One of the primary objectives of Cinema for Peace is empowering the youth by giving them a voice to express and share with the world through film. Other than that, the goal is to start a conversation in a diverse environment to ensure peace.
