Lebanese Civil Defense volunteers organized a sit-in in Riad El Solh on Monday to protest officials’ irresponsibility. Their list of demands includes that officials fulfill their duties toward the Civil Defense, its volunteers, and its vehicles.

They also asserted their support for their fellow volunteer Eyad Al Ashkar. Eyad was arrested almost one month ago when he had a car accident in Dahr El Baidar while driving a Civil Defense vehicle.

ٍSeveral high profile individuals participated in the sit-in, including “YASA for Road Safety” founder Ziad Akl, and the head of the Hammana Center for Civil Defense Louis Al Kamari.
