A clash erupted this afternoon at the Lebanese University (LU) – Faculty of Law and Political Sciences in Jal El Dib, between supporters of the Lebanese Forces (LF) and others from the Free Patriotic Movement (FPM).
The dispute arose due to an attempt to remove the pictures of the slain Lebanese president Sheikh Bashir Gemayel and the LF’s leader Samir Geagea. It evolved into a clash that compelled the intervention of the security forces and the Lebanese Army to control the situation.
As a result, a number of young men were arrested for some time, and some of them are still under investigation until now.
There were also reports of a professor being severely wounded on his leg, and he is undergoing treatment in the hospital.
