The CMA CGM Excellence Fund for Lebanon has been introduced as the newest initiative offering scholarships to 440 Lebanese students.
The program will grant 240 scholarships to students at the American University of Beirut (AUB) and the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) over 3 years.
Lebanese students who aspire to continue their education at HEC Paris will be awarded the remaining 200 scholarships over the course of 10 years.
The initiative is a part of the CMA GM’s ongoing support of Lebanon’s economic, social, and educational systems amidst the country’s current financial crisis.
Students with Lebanese nationality enrolled in the management, science, economics, and engineering faculties will be chosen as recipients. The social services of these universities will work with CMA CGM to determine the selection criteria.
This new initiative is a collaboration between the CMA CGM Group and the HEC Foundation, which was established in 2021 to provide 20 scholarships to Lebanese students a year for a period of ten years.
This program provides Lebanese students with international opportunities, giving them the chance to work at multinational companies after graduation.
The CMA CGM Group is currently one of the top employers in the country, with more than 2,000 people securing employment as of the beginning of 2023. The Group also provided 1,100 new positions to Lebanese youth to prevent emigration.
