A truck hit the Cola bridge. A section got damaged and eventually collapsed. People feared that the bridge is unsafe. The Municipality of Beirut sent one of its engineering teams that checked the bridge and confirmed that only the ornamental part was damaged, the structural part is intact making Cola bridge safe to use. The debris had been cleared yesterday evening.

In 2012, messages warning drivers from using Jal El Dib bridge went viral on social media. Officials looked into the matter and found that the bridge is unsafe to use. Its demolition caused and is still causing a lot of traffic. Construction was
