Award-Winning Film ‘Costa Brava, Lebanon’ Will Be Available On Netflix Starting November

Mounia Akl’s first feature film Costa Brava, Lebanon will be available for streaming on Netflix worldwide, excluding Sweden, Norway, and Switzerland, starting November 3, 2022.

First premiered at the Venice Film Festival, this award-winning film highlights Lebanon’s waste crisis, as the story revolves around a Lebanese family that escapes from Beirut’s pollution, and goes to the mountain.

One day, the family wakes up in a garbage landfill built outside their home.

Costa Brava, Lebanon is directed by Mounia Akl and stars Oscar-nominated Nadine Labaki, Nadia Charbel, Saleh Bakri, Seana Restom, Geana Restom, Liliane Khoury, François Nour, Youmna Marwan, and Muhyiddin Al Karra.

The film was recognized multiple times. It received a special mention for its ensemble cast at the Santiago International Film Festival 2022 and has won many prizes, namely at the Toronto International Film Festival and the 65th BFI London Film Festival.

Produced by Myriam Sassine and Georges Schoucair from Abbout Productions, the film was also acquired by the U.S. film distributor Kino Lorber.
