The Council checked the appeal today. The meeting resulted in the suspension of the tax hikes. In fact, MP Samy Gemayel thanked the Constitutional Council and the MPs who signed the appeal. He also mentioned that the suspension of the tax hikes gave hope in the Lebanese institutions. Also, Gemayel said that this suspension will not affect the wage scale since there are alternative solutions that can solve this problem without affecting the Lebanese people’s financial state. This achievement is a huge step forward since it proved that Lebanese people can hope for a better Lebanon.
