On Friday morning, the Lebanese Internal Security Forces (ISF) announced in a tweet having arrested a man for stealing more than $800,000 from a money changer.
They explained that they received pictures of him and his wife following the complaint of a money exchanger in Tripoli, North Lebanon, who claimed that they stole $470,000 from him.
The suspects, both of Lebanese nationality, were caught in a hotel in Zahle, Beqaa.
During his interrogation, the husband B.N. confessed to stealing the money without the knowledge of his spouse.
The wife D.S. denied being part of the theft operation nor being informed of what her husband did.
She was then released on residence documents per the request of the pertinent judiciary.
The money stolen exceeded the reported $470,000 and amounted to $821,700 and LBP 1,4 billion that was returned to its owner.
