The 2022 Parliamentary Elections started today, with Lebanese people casting their votes in 15 districts across Lebanon.
However, the electoral process has not started without problems.
According to MTV Lebanon, delegates from the “Building the State” list, which includes Lebanese Forces (LF) candidate, Antoine Habchi, were expelled from Riha and Kanisa, located in Bekaa Governate.
The LF-backed list is running in the Baalbek-Hermel district, where Amal and Hezbollah, mainly the latter, have a huge presence.
The Lebanese Forces party chairman, Samir Geagea, appealed to Prime Minister Najib Mikati and Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi for the delegates to return and “those responsible for the attack arrested,” he said.
